Electro-Optical / Infrared Search & Track
Fully passive, 360° day-and-night detection and tracking of drone-size targets, with automatic search, obstacle-interrupt recovery and radar-cued handoff. The identification layer of any serious counter-drone architecture.

System overview
The core system pairs an uncooled 8–12 µm long-wave infrared camera with a 1080p visible-light camera in a 20× continuous zoom lens, on a direct-drive precision turntable. It autonomously searches 360°, detects moving and stationary targets in complex backgrounds (coastline, mountains, cloud, urban clutter), locks and tracks without a human in the loop, and recovers tracks automatically after occlusion — for at least 3 seconds of blind tracking, and up to 10 seconds on the AI-enhanced variants.
Under radar or spectrum cueing, the turntable turns to the designated airspace, searches the box, and transfers automatically from search to track. An optional 1535 nm eye-safe-class laser rangefinder ranges targets to 8 km with ±1 m accuracy, producing the three-dimensional coordinates that fire-control systems need.
Key capabilities
Automatic detection
Complex-background detection of moving and stationary targets; single-frame multi-target detection (10 targets standard, 100 on the panoramic high-speed variant).
Stable tracking
High-maneuver tracking in clutter; automatic track recovery after obstacle interruption; blind track ≥3 s (≥10 s re-acquisition on AI variants).
Target classes
Drones (35 cm wheelbase reference), vehicles, personnel, boats, birds — with AI recognition at ≥85% accuracy under ≥50% contrast.
Ship/vehicle motion
Stabilized imaging on swaying and moving platforms (shipborne, vehicle-mounted variants); low-illumination TV imaging down to 0.001 lux.

EO/IR FAQ
Can it detect radio-silent or home-built drones?
Yes — that is the decisive advantage of passive EO/IR. It senses thermal and visible signatures, not emissions, so radio silence, frequency hopping and non-standard builds do not hide the aircraft.
What does radar cueing look like in practice?
Radar sends target azimuth/elevation over Ethernet; the EO turntable turns to the cue, runs a localized spiral search, auto-detects the target, and transfers to track — typically within seconds, no operator action required.
Can the system work on a moving vehicle or ship?
Yes — gyro-stabilized variants with moving-base detection track while the platform moves; de-rotation keeps the target pinned to the field center.
